Does 1884 date the bridges’ installation?
No. The National Trust gives 1884 as the import year and says at least one bridge was believed to be in place by January 1885.[2]
What does 1830 mark for the lighthouse?
The Trust’s 1830 date refers to the laying of the present lighthouse’s foundation stone, not the building’s completion.[3]
