A place worth remembering

Stone and overhanging roofs

Kéré Architecture’s page on its National Park project says all buildings are clad externally in natural stone from the region. It also describes large overhanging roofs and spaces designed for natural ventilation.[1]

Restaurant levels follow the rock

The architects describe the restaurant as nestling on different levels of a rock formation, reflecting its natural contours.[1]

A museum, gardens and trails

The Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s project page says the park unified the sites of the National Museum and the existing Botanical Garden and Zoo. It also describes a pedestrian network, promenades and interpretive trails for botany, birds and nature.[2]
